As usual, no explaination will be given how all this magical way of playing come in to existence.

Thanks for the info Sharogy. Your builds are always appreciated. I am a little depressed of no real viable level 60 build for Tempest :(

It's too bad getting 51 WL for +15% crit chance and +5% crit damage means you can't get Weapon Master, as that's a pretty big boost for just 3 points. Oh well.

i think you already noticed and don't use the video for your dps parse but it's seem that you are hitting the second dummy

The Quota is Accurate, duplicated hits has already been taken in to consideration.

So our best ST dps spec we need to use sword and board... something about that doesn't seem right.

I am 95 % sure it was not the case before the adjustement that have benn made to balance souls at level 50

Didn't exactly roll a DPS Class to wield a shield. I kinda believe in the aspect of "All out DPS" rather than "Wielding Armor for Defense" to DPS. This kinda kills it, now you have armor, and you DPS, makes no sense...

And the Bull Rush being what it is now, is just a recipe for disaster to have Bull Rush in every rotation where viable... Do I really have to walk backwards/jump back and Bull Rush just to deal more damage? That's just butt ugly and stupid. Of course unless you had a sexy *** and some pink cow pants, that's okay.

C'mon TRION! I know this is not final, but I hope someone's reading these guides. Props to you Sharogy for doing all this. Would love to help you, but I'm not a level 60. Will do what I can for now.

I see King of the Hill is part of the regular rotation. That knocks back the target 15m. I know bosses are immune to KB, but someone is going to use this on something that isn't immune and everyone else is going to be upset. Especially, if it gets knocked back into more mobs.

Test dummies don't get knocked back, so this wouldn't be obvious in this test. Can you just skip KOTH and have a decent rotation or is there an alternative to sub in? Or, is there some other buff/ability that cancels the KB portion that I missed?

It's followed by a pull right afterwards, so on trash there's only a small period of melee not hitting them. But yes, would be highly annoying on said trash, but I also think for that you can just not use it, bosses you can go to town on.

Yeah....push/pull (imagine if you had multiple people in this spec doing trash) seems bad. And in the videos he's using Defensive posture (I assume for the 5% armor boost to EIW). General's orders will not only pull 5 mobs to you, but force them to attack you if you have Defensive or Recovery Posture up (the video shows DP up). You'd have to use Eye of the Storm on the Boss to avoid that, but if the boss has any adds, you're going to land them in your lap.

I know the spec is based on ports, charges, and pulls, but it's got a ton of non-macro abilities and some moves that affect everyone. Mistakes in rotation (esp, if it's a disconnect kind of battle) are going to happen.

I'd be curious, if you can get close to the same DPS without GO, KOTH, and probably SO.

Surely u can just turn off ur defensive posture and lose 5% armor, not gonna kill ya, i remember rogues used to aoe knock back all the time, dont see ppl QQ on that.

People complain about Crossfire all the damn time!

But yes, just turn off Defensive Posture. It won't lower your damage THAT much.

Most raid mobs can't be pulled in or knocked back anyways so that's a moot point. Sharogy comes up with these weird specs that pull amazing numbers :rolleyes:, but in reality I don't really see it getting used all that much.

If it is the top ST dps spec I am sure it will get used plenty. Shame it is just another gimicky spec.

Everything is a weapon is gotta get changed. Although it does make soloing an absolute piece of cake doing 14k retaliation crits at level 52.

Though i do see Everything is a Weapon getting nerfed in some way, i will point out that you dont actually need to pull, knockback, or anything like that to trigger warlord stuff, just casting Sargeant's Order on an immune mob for me allowed me to follow up with piercing thrust/wave of steel

I`m happy we have Sharog for testing these things....seems always like pretty much work :)

Dude I can do the whole charging/pull/knockback thing but it feels really retarded, especially doing a charge on the Lashers in the Akylios Fight LOL, *note to self* DO NOT CHARGE, DO NOT CHARGE.

I honestly dont see these sword and board specs lasting long especially with the ****Storm it will cause in raids when dps wars use thier dkp to take a shield from the tank just for the armor. Also SERIOUSLY they make us polearms and 2 handers we are the only class that can use them and they throw out all that gear in favor of a 1 hand and a "Tank" shield? (By no means do i say we shouldent dw either just of talking in terms of class specialized gear).

Like any guild would let a DPS take a shield over a tank that still needs it.

I've had some good luck with 41 tempest, rest RB, 0 pt para. Any chance you've tested that spec out? Or anyone for that matter?

Would do better dps than anything 51+ tempest. Still won't compare to deeper RB with low tempest.

Thank you for that insight. I was hoping for some comparable numbers. Because I have seen people say Paragon is "broken" even though it does better than cleric dps and equal to rogue. So "it is just that bad" means what?

Well the 61 Tempest buff is a 1 hour buff like Alacrity, that might help?

Probably will still be crap though. I did more DPS with 51 RB/15 Tempest at ranged than the other way around in previous betas.
